Did you know poor staffing practices can cost health centers up to 30% of revenue? 🫨 Here’s how to fix that.
In this week's CEO Boot Camp, we dove into strategies to optimize staffing.
👉Start by implementing staffing plans for every department. Staffing plans outline the number of staff members you need, their roles, and their schedules. Consider the number of patients you see, the different services you provide, and the skills and experience of your staff.
Here's my staffing plan framework:
1️⃣ Determine patient volumes, including the number of patients you see daily, weekly, and monthly. Consider seasonal, monthly, weekly, and holiday trends, as well.
2️⃣ Determine what roles, skills, and experience you need and crosswalk that with the staff you currently have, what roles need to be hired, and what can be automated.
3️⃣ Create a schedule according to the number of patients you WANT to see, not the number you're currently seeing.
4️⃣ Cross-train staff to increase flexibility and reduce costs. Staff members can perform multiple roles.
Implementing these staffing plans could save you up to 30% in staffing costs—money that goes right back into your pocket and improves patient care.
How are you managing your staffing levels? If you're ready to implement a more innovative staffing plan, let's connect.
